My name is Karen, and my husband is awesome. I know people say that a lot about their spouses, but he really is the bees knees. We like to make stuff. We always have just a few projects happening. By “just a few”, I mean, like, a bazillion. Sometimes projects even get completed and we stand and ooh and ahh for a minute or two before moving on to the next project. But… you know how it goes… Most of our projects never make it off our to-do list.
Sometimes, we get to that tired point of just wanting to complete the damn project and instead of “oohs and aahs” of appreciation, we only have sighs of relief that it’s over, and we reflect on all the things we learned as we completed the project and would do differently next time. As if there would be a next time.
Part of the idea of starting this blog is to jot down those coulda-woulda-shoulda notes so our mistakes can benefit other DIY-types.
Some notable projects and interests of ours include:
- Our two young kids. Jam is a kindergartener and Lulu is a toddler.
- We’ve built two houses together from the ground up. We sold one and live in the other one.
- Cooking, especially family tradition recipes and family-oriented recipes
Outside of our DIY lifestyle, hubs is a civil engineer and I was a former non profit manager for a national animal welfare organization, but now I’m no longer working outside the home so that I can spend my crazy days parenting our two adorables. We live in Northern California in a boring suburb, but we manage to make life interesting thanks to our talented and supportive family and friends.
Yeah, that about sums it up! I love hearing from readers, so please drop me a comment/email/tweet with your thoughts.
